Join the Holistic Health Community at the beautiful Lifebridge Sanctuary in Rosendale, NY for a deeply restorative gong meditation led by certified sound therapist and metaphysical healer, Ricarda O'Conner.

This immersive, hour-long experience offers a gentle yet powerful way to bring balance to your body, mind, and spirit through the healing vibrations of sound. All proceeds from this event will support the Holistic Health Community’s work of providing free holistic healthcare to local communities and beyond.

From the beginning of mankind, sound has been utilized to alter states of consciousness and restore health. Consider the drums and flutes used in indigenous shamanic healing, the singing bowls of Nepal, or a choir of voices raised in devotional chant. We humans are vibrational beings, and we have always instinctively understood the powerful benefits of sound. Today there is a growing body of scientific research to document the effectiveness of sound therapy, and this ancient art is rapidly developing into a respected and popular modality.

ABOUT SOUND THERAPY

  • Sound therapy restores the harmonic field of the body. Sound waves come in through the ears but also move through the body. These vibrations interact with every cell in your body, literally bringing you back into balance.
  • Sound therapy swiftly drops you into deep relaxation. It stimulates the vagus nerve, recalibrating the nervous system from sympathetic “fight or flight” mode to parasympathetic “rest and digest”, where true healing occurs.
  • Sound therapy improves brain function, and relieves anxiety and depression. It increases antibody production for better immunity, decreases cortisol and inflammation, accelerates healing and reduces pain.
  • Sound therapy gently releases long-held emotion, stimulates intuition, clarifies the mind, improves sleep and raises consciousness.
As one teacher described it, sound therapy is an effective and natural way to “rearrange the molecules,” bringing your body, mind and soul into healthy rhythm and returning you to your essential resonance.

ABOUT RICARDA O’CONNER, Sound Therapist
Ricarda O’Conner is a metaphysical healer and teacher with over 30 years of experience in a variety of modalities including Matrix Energetics, Hypnosis, Reiki, Yoga and Sound Healing. Ricarda’s Journey with Sound Healing began over 12 years ago when she experienced a profound expansion during a gong bath. Soon after, she began extended study of vibrational instruments and their many benefits. She has been a practicing Sound Therapist for 11 years and was certified in 2015. Working both in-person and via distance healing, Ricarda has an innate ability to connect deeply and intuitively, providing a expansive, loving, safe environment where people can quickly access their power to transform and heal every aspect of their lives.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN A GONG BATH MEDITATION
For this event, you have the choice to lie down on a yoga mat or sit in a chair. You will simply close your eyes and lean into the sounds. Working with four large bronze gongs and other sacred sound instruments, Ricarda will take you on a beautiful sonic journey, gradually increasing the intensity of the vibration, and generating a coherent chamber of sound. Safe and supported inside the chamber, you will be surrounded by shimmering harmonic waves of sound—completely immersed in a relaxing rejuvenating “sound bath.”

WHAT TO WEAR AND WHAT TO BRING
Wear comfortable clothing. Bring an extra layer in case it’s cool. Doors open at 1:30pm and the gong bath begins promptly at 2:00pm. Please arrive on time so you have a chance to settle in, unwind and begin to drop into a meditative state before the gong bath begins.
If you will be lying down, bring a yoga mat, pillow, and blanket. You may want to bring an eye covering such as an eye bag, or sleep mask. If you will be in a chair, you may want to bring a cushion to sit on as well as a sleep mask or other eye covering.
